Congratulations to Alyssa and Akul for their poster awards from the Carbohydrate Division for their work presented at the National ACS meeting in Boston August 2018. Group alum Alyssa presented her work on complex carbohydrate synthesis at a PUI and Akul, a postdoctoral scholar in the lab of Richard Cummings at the Harvard Medical School, presented work done in collaboration with Nikki during her sabbatical leave in Cambridge and with Ravi at IU. Great work! Three other collaborators from that sabbatical time at Harvard Medical School and MIT also presented work at the ACS meeting.
Nikki presented the group's work in March 2018 at the National ACS meeting in New Orleans as winner of the Melville Wolfrom Award from the Carbohydrate Division of the ACS.
Nikki presented the group's work on March 15, 2018 to the Silicon Valley ACS Section as winner of the 2018 Mosher Award.
Peng presented his work at the Midwest Enzyme Conference on October 14, 2017.
Nikki will head off to Cambridge, MA in September 2017 for her first ever sabbatical leave. She will be the Daniels Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Sytudy at Harvard University and also work with collaborators Prof. Brad Pentelute (MIT) and Prof. Richard Cummings (Harvard Medical School).
Victoria, Chelsea, Allie, and Kimberly presented their work at the 13th Annual Midwest Carbohydrate and Glycobiology Symposium in Madison, WI September 29-30, 2017 while Zach and Lauren presented their work at the Turkey Run Conference.
Reyan presented a poster and Nikki picked up the Fluorous Technology Award in Boston at the International Symposium for Fluorous Technologies August 9-11, 2017.

Ravi, Victoria, Regis, Chelsea, Nikki, and Allie all presented at the Carbohydrates GRC in Vermont June 25-30, 2017! Group alum Prof. Alyssa Pirinelli successfully chaired the first Graduate Research Symposium associated with this GRC the weekend before the conference, too. We also saw group alum Dr. Lin Liu, who is a senior scientist with Prof. Geert-Jan Boons at the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center. Prof. Lai-Xi Wang did a great job organizing the conference!

Congratulations to Chelsea for winning a Best Student/Postdoc Oral Presentation Award for her talk on October 15, 2016 at the 12th Annual Midwest Carbohydrate and Glycobiology Symposium at Central Michigan University! She received the award from Prof. David Crich during the final awards ceremony. Chelsea, Allie, Ravi and Nikki all drove to Mt. Pleasant to present work at the 2-day event.
